RE Strathdevon accreditation status

I am delighted that Uniting AgeWell Strathdevon has returned to full accreditation compliance following a recent review by the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency.

The Agency’s review, conducted on December 19, found the facility now meets all 44 expected outcomes required across the four Accreditation Standards.

Assessors were very positive in describing the work that has been done at Strathdevon by staff and management from across Uniting AgeWell over the past few months.

The report said Uniting AgeWell had undertaken a thorough analysis of the causes of the failures identified in a review in September, and implemented improvements to address deficits.

These initiatives include providing more feedback opportunities for residents, families and staff, such as resident-chaired meetings and regular satisfaction and experience surveys, and greater communications with all stakeholders at Strathdevon.

We have introduced a new management and staff structure and installed a new family room to provide more privacy for family members when required.

We have strengthened our clinical care to ensure the needs and preferences of all our residents are met, improved our responses to infectious outbreaks both locally and throughout the organisation, and enhanced our education and training program for staff in the area of outbreak management.

We are extremely grateful for the support of our valued residents and their families during the past few months. It has been a difficult time for all involved and our utmost priority has always been the wellbeing of our residents and their families.

We have every confidence that Strathdevon, like all Uniting AgeWell facilities, will continue to be fully compliant and provide the highest standard of care.
