A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR ANDREW KERR CARE AND UNITING AGEWELL

The Members of Andrew Kerr Care overwhelmingly endorsed a proposal from its Board to accept a transfer of assets and business to Uniting AgeWell ownership and management, when they passed a resolution at a special general meeting on Thursday, 11 February 2021.

Uniting AgeWell Chief Executive Officer Andrew Kinnersly is delighted with the outcome, acknowledging it as a significant milestone in the histories of both Andrew Kerr Care and Uniting AgeWell.

“This decision will enable Andrew Kerr Care and Uniting AgeWell to strengthen its support of older people on the Mornington Peninsula, while ensuring the legacy of Andrew Kerr Care continues for decades to come,” Mr Kinnersly said.

“We are extremely proud to have been selected by Andrew Kerr Care as their preferred partner and are very excited about growing aged care services on the Mornington Peninsula.”

Andrew Kerr Care Chief Executive Officer, Angelia Dixon is also delighted with the outcome, saying, “This decision will ensure Andrew Kerr Care can continue to provide the high quality of service and facilities it is known for, well into the future.”

“Our decision to select Uniting AgeWell as the preferred partner was based not only on their commitment to quality and demonstrable track record in aged care services, but importantly for their empathy with our residents and clients’ needs, their alignment with our values and their respect for our heritage, legacy and community,” Ms Dixon said.

The transfer will see all Andrew Kerr Care staff being offered employment with Uniting AgeWell and its current residential, day centre and home care services continuing.

Subject to the signing and exchange of a final legal agreement between Andrew Kerr Care and Uniting AgeWell, the transition process will get under way in the coming weeks and is expected to be completed within a three month period.
