Vive la France! White Hills Haven celebrates Bastille Day
July 13, 2016
Uniting AgeWell White Hills Haven will be transformed into modern day Paris with live music, champagne and French delicacies as residents and clients celebrate Bastille Day this week.
The independent living units in White Hills will celebrate all things French this Friday, July 15 as Bendigo’s classically trained French chef, Marc Frochot, prepares cheese soufflé and gives a presentation about the French National Day.
Uniting AgeWell Strath-Haven Community Programs Coordinator Kerry Egan said the Independent Living Units had regular themed days where both residents and Strath-Haven day respite clients gathered to celebrate various cultural events.
“With France recently featuring heavily in the media, our residents and clients feel it’s important to celebrate Bastille Day and learn more about this beautiful nation,” she said.
“Residents and clients will be immersing themselves into French culture, through literature, trivia and music.
“Marc will also give a presentation on Bastille Day, including its history and lead a discussion on modern day France.”
