ARIIA Grant awarded to Uniting AgeWell research

We're excited and honoured to be part of two innovative projects awarded funding by the Second Round of the Aged Care Research and Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) Grants Program on Monday 30 January 2023.

As an organisation Uniting AgeWell takes great pride in understanding our clients' needs and taking action to make meaningful improvements to our services. We work collaboratively with a number of trusted partners to develop and improve technology designed to innovate and improve services so that we can deliver better outcomes for our customers for decades to come.

The ARIIA Grants Program aims to benefit the aged care sector through the development of high-quality projects that address important gaps in the aged care workforce’s capability and knowledge.

ARIIA Grants have been awarded to 11 projects across the sector. We are grateful for the continued support toward:

  1. The Dossy Project: Community Connect, also in collaboration with Dossy.co, the University of Melbourne and Two Bulls/DEPT®. A project which aims to reduce the risk of social isolation and loneliness in aged care through a unique video app that connects families and their loved one in an intuitive and meaningful way.
  2. TOP UP Study: in partnership with the Institute for Musuloskeletal Health, the University of Sydney, Whiddon and the Sydney Local Health District. Together we are working to improving mobility in aged care, by evaluating the effectiveness and acceptability of telehealth physiotherapy programs for mobility and falls in older people.
