Have your say and help shape senior services

Uniting AgeWell is seeking community members in Victoria and Tasmania to get involved in senior service planning to help improve the quality of care and effectiveness of its own services and the aged care system as a whole.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now open to join the newly established AgeWell Community Advisory Committee of the Uniting AgeWell Board.

Uniting AgeWell Board Chair Rev Allan Thompson says engaging with our clients and the broader community on how we deliver and improve our services and plan for the future is vitally important.

“Our community advisory committee will be a true consumer voice driving strategy for quality of care and service delivery,” he said.

“We want to hear first-hand the concerns, aspirations and ideas of the community. It’s through these insights we will ensure our services continue to support people to age well and have confidence in the quality of care and services they receive.”

If you’re able to think not just about your own views and issues, but those of the broader community, UA would like to hear from you.

Your voice will ensure the perspectives of our clients and older community members inform decision making for the benefit of all. Diversity is encouraged.

A selection and interview process for the new committee will be conducted over the coming months.

This is a volunteer role, with quarterly meetings commencing in July, plus a two-day induction program in June.

Formal training will be given through the Health Issues Centre at no cost to appointed members. Transport expenses to attend meetings will also be reimbursed.  A willingness to work within the ethos of the Uniting Church is essential.

Closing date for EOI is 29 February 2016.

Information Sessions will be held:

TAS: 19 Feb 11am-1pm, 9 Strathaven Dr, Rosetta
VIC: 24 Feb 10am-12pm, 10 A’Beckett St, Kew
